Hither's 28 seconds of Homeworld 3, ii years after the unfit was announced
It's been all but two years since Gearbox proclaimed Homeworld 3, a followup to one of the greatest RTS games of all clip. We've seen rattling little of the secret plan since, but last week the publishing house revealed a real shortly glimpse at the space travel sequel.
Spotted by Kotaku, the 28-second clip seems to coincide with a Fig update. We see a steel new transport, the Railgun Frigate, as IT charges risen and punches a massive hole in some other craft, destroying it absolutely.
It's non often, but it is the first we've seen of Homeworld 3 proper since its break back in 2019. We've seen plenty of gorgeous construct artistry since, merely very little of the game itself. Beyond scarcely this coup d'oeil, the Fig update does also provide a deep dive into the design and role of the Railgun frigate, including this delicious snipping on the send on's visuals from concept artist David T. Cheong:
"At the closing of the daytime, this is an RTS game, soh social unit-functions need to be legible. To achieve this, we strike into the spirit of send off-as-weapon established in previous Homeworld games by slapping a behemoth f*ck-off gun onto the matter."
That aforementioned, there's still not much we can gleam from this one embark. Homeworld 3 is set to add up unstylish at the destruction of 2022. That's a long metre to wait—merely considering the high bar socialistic by the originative Homeworld, I'm voluntary to give this semipermanent-delinquent follow-up all the time IT inevitably.
